September 5

At our first meeting of the season, Lisa Gonzalez of the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) will share her presentation on invasive plants.

The HARC publishes “The Quiet Invasion: A guide to invasive species of the Galveston Bay Area”. This essential guide is available online at www.galvbayinvasives.org. “The guide suggests native species alternatives which are better choices for planting” so we can create our gardens and landscapes in harmony with our natural habitats.

Visitors are always welcome to GBTB monthly meetings. We meet in the “Great Room” of University Baptist Church, 16106 Middlebrook Drive. Hospitality with refreshments begins at 9:00 a.m. And following the featured presentation of each month, Master Gardener Mary Demeny will give a short talk on fruiting plants for the garden.

For more information on future programs, please see our calendar.

  1. Hi Martha, The website looks great! I missed alot of the info at our last meeting because I was busy helping clean up, and am sure glad I can get the info online. Thanks! Laura E.
