Mary Karish, is a Certified Master Gardener with Waller
County. She grew up in the mountains of Lebanon, a tiny
country in the East Mediterranean. Her gardening skills
developed at the age of 7, helping her grandmother take care of
the family fruit orchard. Her favorite pastime is growing citrus
and olives.
Mary’s specializations are Composting, Greenhouse
Management, Citrus & Home Fruit Orchard, Budding and
Propagation. Aside from maintaining her own organic vegetable
garden, a wildflower meadow, a citrus and a fruit orchard, she
gives presentations, lectures and hands on workshops on soil
building, garden design, planting and food preservation. Her
programs cover Katy Independent School District Adult
Evening Education Programs, garden clubs, county master
gardeners, corporations and senior education centers.
Mary has published many articles on growing mangoes, moringa
trees, citrus, biodynamic gardening, to name a few. She is also
an active member of the Texas Rare Fruit Growers.
